Bridges
Dental bridges are often used to replace missing teeth and are a fixed alternative to removable dentures. A bridge is usually made from a combination of non-precious metal and porcelain and is permanently attached to adjacent tooth/teeth to restore tooth function and aesthetics.
Inlays and Onlays
These type of restorations can be used to replace a tooth cavity or crack where a significant amount of tooth structure has been lost due to decay or trauma. An inlay is a type of filling that is used to replace a smaller area of missing tooth (usually on the biting surface) whereas an onlay can cover a larger area of missing tooth. Inlays and Onlays are used to restore teeth where the damage is not significant enough to require a dental crown.
